Kyu Asakura House

On Wednesday 16/12 we visited an historic traditional house in Daikanyama, built by the then Chairman of Tokyo’s Prefectural Assembly.

The house and gardens are both amazing.

We could go through most of the rooms inside, the kids loved it, they pretended they were Satuski and Mei from the movie “My Neighbour Totoro” and collected acorns from the garden, and did a bit of yoga on the tatami mats.

The town that the house was in was very nice also, it had a European theme with French Patisseries, a London toy shop, European clothing shops etc., we had a good walk around and found Belgian chocolates and a cool coffee van.
